I have been interested in personal growth for most of my life and there have been many things which have influenced me on my journey such as martial arts, philosophy, mindfulness to name a few. Personal growth is far from easy though. It is often messy and non-linear with frequent regressions. One of the main things I have come to realise is that personal growth needs to be seen in a holistic way. Everything in our lives is inter-connected. If we want to improve or move forward in one area then almost certainly we will have to look at other areas aswell. We can have perfect clarity around what we want in life but if we don’t have the right mindset, habits and strategies for coping with life then we still may not achieve our goals. This is why I have developed the Daily Win coaching system.
The central idea of the Daily Win concept is moving forward on a daily basis. If we can have small daily wins, changes or improvements in time these will compound to have significant effects.
Life Coaching
Life coaching is a process of helping the client gain real and laser -focused clarity around what they want in life. The coach can also help the client with a strategy for overcoming the inevitable barriers to these goals. My style of life coaching is based on Intentional Change Theory (ICT) developed by Professor Richard Boyatzis of Case Western Reserve University and published in 2006. For lasting change to occur there needs to be an inner emotional connection to that change whatever that change may be. There is a strong emphasis on helping the client find that inner connection and their personal vision for the future. The process is not about “fixing” the client (coaching for compliance) but is about coaching with compassion to find out what the client really wants deep down.
Habit Coaching
We are all a product of our habits. What we achieve in life will be largely dependent on clusters of small daily habits. We can have crystal clear clarity around what we want in life but if we don’t have optimal habits we will struggle to achieve our goals. Natural abilities like “cleverness” will only help to a certain extent. Using up to date theories of habit formation we can install or remove particular habits for the goal ahead.
Invincibility Coaching
This component aims to help the client become more resilient and function better in life. We use concepts from philosophy, particularly Stoicism, and martial arts to help the client design their own base operating system for life. We also look at some specific topic areas such as surviving the workplace, verbal self protection, preventing burnout, anti-bullying strategies, leadership, coping with adversity, and understanding your “why” to name a few.
